Julie Wherry was appointed Assistant Chief Probation Officer for Adult Operations in March 2018. She began her career with the Sacramento County Probation Department in 1998 with employment as a Probation Aide and then as a Deputy Probation Officer. In 2004, she promoted to Supervising Probation Officer. She has experience with the Youth Detention Facility, commitment facility expansion, adult court services, and is well versed in the planning, implementation, and operations of Adult Day Reporting Centers.
As a Chief Deputy, Julie was responsible for management of the Professional Standards Division, including oversight of the department’s Training, Human Resources, Policy & Compliance, Pre-employment Investigations & Hiring,
Personnel Complaint Investigations, Media Relations, Facilities Management, and Administrative Professionals. Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento and is a graduate of Hiram Johnson High School, located in Sacramento.
